Community-Led Solutions CBO facilitates communities to become agents of change — addressing child protection, climate change, health, governance, and more through a people-first approach.
CLS CBO was formed in October 2020 and registered with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Kisumu County (Reg. No. KSMEAST/WINAM/CBO.NO:0641/2020).
We believe sustainable development can only be achieved when communities are FACILITATED to take the lead — harnessing their unique knowledge, strengths, and resources.
Our three-fold FLP framework ensures communities are always the experts, decision-makers, and drivers of their own development.
We actively engage, listen, and empower community members to identify and address the issues that matter most — providing tools, resources, and guidance for their decision-making.
We act as a bridge, connecting communities with government agencies, NGOs, and institutions — ensuring access to resources, expertise, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Where additional support is needed, we step in as partners — providing capacity building, training, and technical resources to build self-reliant agents of change.
CLS works across six interconnected areas, each contributing to a holistic vision of community-led development.
Safeguarding children through awareness, training, and policy implementation — ensuring every child lives free from abuse and exploitation.
Kajulu Forest Restoration, Smart Farms, Free Mercury Campaigns, and clean-up initiatives along River Wigwa and Auji.
Medical screening camps for World Kidney Day (2021–2023), Universal Health Coverage advocacy, and health clubs at partner institutions.
Community-based research through surveys, photovoice, ethnography, and focus groups — generating evidence to drive informed action.
Strengthening CBOs through training, mentorship, technical support, and knowledge exchange platforms that build lasting capacity.
Budget advocacy, public participation on key policy documents, and promoting transparent, inclusive governance at county level.
CLS has built strong relationships with government bodies, international organizations, academic institutions, and civil society across Kenya and beyond.
